Statement

My current work involves aspects of design, functionality, craft, and form. I make ceramic objects that are functional yet aligned with contemporary ceramic practice. I see a strong relationship between the power of an object and how it is represented in the home as well as its function in daily life. I navigate the fundamental relationship between pottery and furniture, and how its pairing further expands each material’s function. I often break the volume, plane, and line to shift the nature of how they are perceived. My work embraces the latent duality of functional objects as sculpture.
